Kitchen operating system

The kitchen operating system was the studios first venture into digital products, or sensemaking as we called it. The project was designing an operating system for industrial kitchens producing restaurant meals for delivery. The so-called cloud kitchens, became prevalent during the pandemic. These kitchens produce food for different restaurant brands, and so keeping track of all the moving parts is essential. The operating system would receive orders from delivery apps and display the right information in front of the right chef at the right time. It would then relay information back to the delivery apps on remaining time, as well as inform the end consumer about the progress. The final piece of the puzzle was the restaurant owners who would see how their brand was performing, giving them detailed insight down the individual dish. This was the studio's first foray into digital products it was an exercise in organising information and optimising logistics.
