Industrial designer 

We are looking for a driven industrial designer to work full-time in the Oslo-based design studio.

Jonas Stokke, Industrial Design Studio continued the work of StokkeAustad after it came to a conclusion in 2016. The studio designs and develops products and services for Norwegian and international clients.

We believe that every project is exciting and an opportunity to learn. And we believe design is a fundamental vehicle for societal change and development.

You will be employee number one, and you must be self-driven and know how to manage time, clients and budgets. You should not be afraid of responsibilities. The hire is based on your skills and personality, not your titles.

You should apply if you can:

• analyse: You quickly understand complex challenges and identify core issues. You are a fierce researcher and you are as comfortable interviewing end users as you are compiling a desktop study
• plan: You have seen enough projects to be able to construct an accurate scope of work
• create: Although CAD software is a vital part of the everyday work you possess the ability to craft things with your own two hands. You have impeccable taste and are not afraid to evaluate aesthetics and give your informed opinion
• execute: You are meticulous and detail oriented, and it clearly shows in your work

  You have:

• excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• good knowledge of a Scandinavian language or an ability and desire to learn it quickly
• excellent SolidWorks skills
• excellent 3D rendering capabilities

  You believe:

• design is fundamental force affecting every part of our lives
• as designers we have a responsibility to create the best possible solutions for our users, clients, society and our planet

Design assistant 

We are looking for a highly motivated design assistant to intern for a minimum of six months in the Oslo-based design studio.

Jonas Stokke, Industrial Design Studio continued the work of StokkeAustad after it came to a conclusion in 2016. The studio designs and develops products and services for Norwegian and international clients.

We believe that every project is exciting and an opportunity to learn. And we believe design is a fundamental vehicle for societal change and development.

You will be involved in many different projects ranging from furniture to electronics, and you will be assigned various tasks depending on the project. The internship is compensated with NOK 10 000,- per month subject to tax.

Typical assignments involve the following:

• research, both desktop studies and in the field
• concept development. The best idea on the table will always win, regardless of the author
• CAD, rendering, and Photoshop assistance
• presentations
• making physical models and mock-ups
• general assistance in the studio and on projects. This could be making a diagram of a user experience or going to the post office

You are:

• a highly driven individual, with an eagerness to learn
• self-motivated
• an excellent communicator, both written and spoken

You have:

• excellent SolidWorks skills
• excellent 3D rendering capabilities.
• excellent knowledge of the adobe package

  And you want:

• to learn from an experienced design environment
• to be challenged and pushed to become a better designer
• to work on diverse and difficult projects
